The title looks a bit Russian, but in actuality it's Christmas Trees From Other Planets, and it's the first in a series of paintings dedicated to extraterrestrial Tannenbaums. This particular species hails from AAlothianus, a small icy world circling the star Eta Sculptoris.
Actually, three of these trees were acquired in 1957 by the ever-enterprising Keb, who has since transplanted them to the aurora lapped shores of Beechey Island as a tribute to the crew of the ill-fated HMS Erebus. On the Monday evening before Thanksgiving Day they begin to glow with an indescribable blue light... and continue to do so until the first week of January. Of course, to The Order of the Half Hand they are the source of the pure and primal blue light.
hey you! definitely a change from your 'norm' in regards to subject and such...i think that's why i find it so intriguing and engaging...love the colors..makes me think of blue otter pops..why? i have no idea--but that is a compliment for sure! : )) there is something beautifully innocent and surreal about it. bravo kind sir....
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Featuring `ATrue's Literary Fundraiser, works from many Literature Groups on Deviantart aswell as Personal Choices and #Xpose-it's quiz night on the 26th March!
