That song by The Cure (Lament) kept hopping around inside my head as I was doing this. Oddly, I only listen to Japanese Whispers in the autumn. It seems like an autumn album to me. I remember once dreaming of a snow covered field, midnight and silent, with Christmas lights buried beneath the snow, shining as brightly as the winter stars overhead... Nothing to do with this piece, but the scattered candles brought it back from wherever it had been hiding.
great work! creates a wonderful atmosphere fitting for a cure song. never heard "japanese whispers" before. i think my favorite cure album is either "faith" or "pornography"
Not sure why, but it instantly reminded me of that incident years ago where all those kids in Chowchilla, CA disappeared, and it turned out they'd been kept hidden in a buried school bus. Whatever..it's another amazing dream of a painting. Mark

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Remarkable use of tonal contrasts, and of colour highlights in grisaille.
