The Sleep Of The Ghost Ship by kolaboy The Sleep Of The Ghost Ship by kolaboy
Acrylic on canvas panel, 11x14 inches. A few months old.

The canvas texture is a bit more pronounced in this photo than I would like, but there you are.
On a side note; I never really liked Maxwell's Silver Hammer, but hearing it sung by Steve Martin really makes me hate it.

Thanks for looking =)

I really like this piece.

After hearing Steve Martin's version of Maxwell's Silver Hammer, I was a bit traumatized. But at the same time, it was hard not to laugh.

Hey Danny. This one reminds me of a few of the Jie paintings, but I guess that's not Jie. In any event, like those paintings, this one's a beauty. (I do hope there's more Jie to come.) Mark

This is beautiful, as always.

While you excel at the use of color in your paintings, my favorite ones have always been the more monotone of yours. They seems so much more striking that way.

when are you going to post a picture of yourself ? why do you hide ? how real is your relationship with janet ?
how old are you ? do you have a day job ? were you going to be priest ? or is that a fib .. what is your pain ? what is your pleasure ..how often do you paint .. do you eat your paint ? danny boy .. i feel close to you - and we will visit / how does that sit . I really get the idea you are alone - have you been married ? do you have kids ? i see you in a small house is that right

I was dead serious ..

but i suspect you are a private person .. as you note i tell everyone everything everwhere about my silly life .. in some ways that's my main art

you on the other hand are cloaked in symbols

.. just interested friend .. would like to sip tea on your back porch and chew the fat one day ..

The flames look incredible, yet strangely they don't seem to carry any sense of heat.

I've been known to indulge. It's a visceral way to become one with the piece... or something

As long as there are no rogue turpentine splashes it shouldn't be a problem. But don't be surprised if you find yourself using your right thigh as a palette...

Had this been a hit, imagine what they would have done with Magical Mystery Tour. Starland Vocal Band - All You Need Is Love... Buddy Hackett - I Am The Walrus... Kay Ballard - You're Mother Should Know...

What an abysmal thing this truly was-- I mean, even Ken Russel's "Tommy", as loathsome as it was, had some moments of value-- Eric Clapton's version of Eyesight To The Blind was at least listenable, if you just close your eyes while those Marilyn relics pass by...
Cocaine really really has a lot of shit to answer for. :iconyeehawplz:

That was on last weekend. Eyesight holds up, as does Daltry's revved up version of "I'm Free"... but not much else. Every film Ann Margaret is in she ends up rolling around in some crap.
Quadrophenia is a whole different story. I'm limitimg my self to the original lp and film, however. Both (to me) are flawless.
