Acrylic on wood panel, app. 8x12 inches. A new piece. I tried about 5 times to upload a large version, but for some reason it was freezing in the "processing" mode.
A staple of (my) childhood was a sort of ante-room dream at the very border of sleep. As I was drifting off I would find myself in a large room full of assorted machinery, cluttered about in broken piles - large pistons, antique printing presses... This came to mind about midway into this particular piece, though I've no idea if this memory were indeed the genesis of it.
I also used to drift off to visions of huge checkerboard patterned rockets - though this may had had more to do with that old Astro Boy cartoon than anything else...
thats somehow very different to your other art but I like it... It really feels like the personification of a long gone dream, somehow realistic but untouchable...
