Acrylic on wood panel, app. 8x12 inches. A new piece.
I tried about 5 times to upload a large version, but for some reason it was freezing in the "processing" mode.

A staple of (my) childhood was a sort of ante-room dream at the very border of sleep. As I was drifting off I would find myself in a large room full of assorted machinery, cluttered about in broken piles - large pistons, antique printing presses...
This came to mind about midway into this particular piece, though I've no idea if this memory were indeed the genesis of it.

I also used to drift off to visions of huge checkerboard patterned rockets - though this may had had more to do with that old Astro Boy cartoon than anything else...

Thanks for looking =)

Cluttered machinery never ceases to be intriguing.

thats somehow very different to your other art but I like it... It really feels like the personification of a long gone dream, somehow realistic but untouchable...

I'd love to explore those big rooms, but they never linger...

I had dreams much like this too as a kid. I think they were inspired by sneaking peaks at Heavy Metal magazine.

At that time all I had to peak at was Green Eggs & Ham & Horton Hears A Who...
