Not really

---
Well. it's a warm and humid night here in NC. I hate warm & humid. It gives me headaches and makes me lash out at fecal material. So, that in mind, I guess I'll take aim at the piece that's floating nearest in the pond...
---
I loathe typing this name: George Clooney. He spent three months in my town last year, tying up traffic, making that bomb that came out a few weeks ago. I think it's called "Leatherheads". Did you blink? Well, you missed it then. Looks like GC's creativity peaked when he was a bit player on "The Facts Of Life". And it wasn't even the Mrs. Garrett Facts Of Life, but that grasping at straws season with Cloris Leachman.
Seriously, why can't they make
good crappy movies anymore, like "Americathon", or (shudder) "FM"?
---
Speaking of the 1978 film "FM", it's one of the few examples of a film that was actually much inferior to the TV series it spawned (WKRP In Cincinnati). I usually give FM a pass because Martin Mull is in it, and I happen to like Martin Mull.
But back to FM. The hilarious thing about the film is that they claim to portray a rebellious radio station, sticking it to
the man. All the while they're playing music by such radical, cutting-edge artists as Linda Rondstat, The Doobie Brothers, and the Margaritaville hippy (whose name escapes me at the moment). Their one pitiful nod to new music was a brief cameo by Tom Petty.
---
Want to know what the summer of 1978 was like? I can help you recreate it. Simply take these three songs:
Jerry Rafferty - Baker Street
Joe Walsh - Life's Been Good To Me
Player - Baby Come Back.
Now, play them constantly. After a few hours take a bathroom break, and silently wonder to yourself if Amy Carter will grow up to look like Jimmy, or Rosalyn.
---
Amy Carter was a funny kid in that she never looked like either of her parents. Even now she doesn't. You'd think at least the teeth would carry over, but no. Two others who also share this trait: Chelsea Clinton and Chastity Bono.
---
Damn. Sonny Bono is dead, and Kim Jong Il is alive. Kim Jong Il could never in a million years write a song as good as "Needles And Pins". I can, however, imagine him dancing around in drag to it.
---
Charlton Heston and Richard Widmark, both dead within a month of one another. The great old ones are fast disappearing. Heston's work is well known, Widmark's less so. Widmark's film "The Bedford Incident" is a brilliant, chilling cold war film. Highly recommended.

They've taken down my favorite webcam: A view of Caffe Nero on the corner of Frith and Old Compton in Soho, London. I wonder what the crowd at Hi Sushi is doing tonight?
---
Guilty pleasure? Two words: Women of Ninja Warrior.
Moderately guilty pleasure? Jones Green Apple Soda.

I'm available for commissions - sort of. If you want something like 437 free murals then I'm probably not your man. But, if you have a project in mind and you think my style would suit, do get in touch with me and we'll mull it all over. Don't be afraid, I seldom bite. OK, I
do bite, but I've had all my shots. Extend your arm

FYI - I sell my originalsDepending on the piece, of course. I'm also open to trades under certain
circumstances .

We thought we were gonna love FM, based on the Steely Dan song from the film; by the time the hero (Michael Brandon?) was Stopping The Madness between the protesters and the, um, U.S. Army, we were all praying that Criswell from the Ed Wood movies would make a sudden appearance, or at least, the Robot Monster...
My favorite variation on the xenogenesis phenomenon came when a standup comic pointed out how both Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez look just like their dad, but neither remotely resembles the other...
